Nature bingo — Where the idea started.
Where the idea started.
Nature bingo began as a simple experiment in making nature exploration playful.
Instead of telling people what to learn, we gave them something to find.

- The question
- Can play make people more curious about nature?
- The pilot
- Nature bingo
- The experience
- Explore. Find. Complete. Discover together.
- The game
- Complete bingo challenges and collect digital cards filled with exciting facts.
- The insight
- Having something to discover changes how closely we look.

Can curiosity change the way we relate to nature?
Nature bingo was an early pilot for a simple idea: when play gives us a reason to look closer, curiosity can lead to discovery, discovery can create knowledge, and knowledge can help us build a stronger connection with the nature around us.
And what we feel connected to is easier to care about.
- 01
Curiosity
A simple game gives us a reason to look closer.
What might otherwise go unnoticed suddenly becomes something to search for, notice and discover.
- 02
Knowledge
Looking closer creates opportunities to learn.
What was once simply “nature” begins to become individual species, details and discoveries we recognise and understand.
- 03
Connection
Knowledge can create connection.
What we begin to recognise and understand becomes less anonymous, more familiar and more meaningful. And what feels meaningful is easier to care about.
- 04
Action
When we feel connected, we are more likely to care.
And when we care more, it can influence how we explore, value, protect and engage with the natural world.
What we know, we can connect with.
What we connect with, we are more likely to care about.
Nature bingo gave us an early way to explore this idea through play. The thinking would later become an important part of Speciefy.
What began as a simple pilot helped shape a much larger product built around real-world species, AI, collecting, gaming and learning.
Play can create curiosity.
